Buddy’s Bowl Community Outreach Program

Buddy’s Bowl began in June of 2020 in honor of Buddy, a sweet senior dog who was found wandering near a hunting lodge more than likely abandoned after he served his purpose. Buddy came to live at the sanctuary and lived for several years spending his days playing on the sanctuary grounds and taking long naps on the covered wrap-around porch. Buddy passed in early 2020. His memory and image serve as our community outreach ambassador. He represents the need to reduce the instances of abandoned, surrendered, and abused pets and the importance of our work to help more pets stay in the home.

Our Community Outreach Program is based on the premise that pet ownership is for life and with the right support, pet owners who are struggling, can keep their pets and provide the best home possible.

Buddy’s Bowl exists to help pet owners keep their pets

We offer assistance in the following areas:

Pet Food Pantry

We offer pet food and supplies to pet owners who are experiencing short term difficulty when we are able. If you would like to donate food and supplies to Buddy’s Bowl, please drop off in person or have shipped directly to Revelation Gardens Unique Goods and Cool Cats Shoppe, 158 W Main St., Camden TN 38320

Spay and Neuter Grants

Providing spay and neuter services to your pet is critical. Not only does it help reduce the number of homeless animals, but it is very important for your pet’s physical and behavioral health.

Each July we receive a grant from the state of Tennessee spay your pets license frame fund to help low income pet owners spay and neuter their cats and dogs. The program is offered until funds run out.

Behavioral Consultations

We are available to help navigate difficult pet behaviors. If you would like to talk with someone, you can Contact Us to set up an appointment

Education

If you are a first-time pet owner, are having a hard time finding information related to your breed or need to know how to handle difficult pet behaviors, we will provide education and pet specific information to help you provide the best possible home for your cat or dog.

We are also happy to talk with you or your group about basic pet care. Let us know if you would like us to speak to your group by Contacting Us.

Rehoming Assistance

We currently help pet owners rehome their pet when they are no longer able to keep them. The owner will continue to care for their pet while we create a profile for the animal on our partner adoption sites.
This enables the pet to stay in their home while a perfect adopter is found, helps the pet owner who cannot otherwise keep their pet, and helps us by keeping the number of animals in our direct care more manageable.

Referrals

We may not be able to help with every situation a pet owner is facing, but through referrals to other supportive programs, help is available to help pet owners deal with their specific situation.

Stress Reduction

If you are experiencing stress and find that it gets in the way of you caring for your pets, let us know. We offer a confidential, safe place to talk about what you are experiencing in order to figure out solutions.

We also have toolkits available to help with managing stress.

If you need help with caring for your pets or know someone who does, please Contact Us to talk further or download and complete this form. Once complete, visit us at 158 W Main Street, Camden, 12-3pm Wed-Sat.

  1. I don’t see a wish list for supplies needed for the animals ex beds, foods, towels, etc.
